School-Day Program

The School-Day Program runs from Tuesday through Friday at the Riverside Rink in Buffalo, located at 2607 Niagara Street. This program is open to all local schools whose students face either disabilities or low socio-economic constraints.

In the School-Day Program, each class is required to set individual student goals for the SABAH program. Specific activities to be addressed in the weekly lesson plans include: dressing skills, skating skills, social skills, appropriate peer interaction, interaction with different persons (volunteers and instructors) as well as following directions. The lessons plans also incorporate a physical and occupational therapy component. Learning objectives are linked with New York State Educational Standards & Alternative Assessments for Students with Severe Disabilities.
