Although the 2011 Celebration on Ice is many months away, plans are already underway for SABAH's 34th annual ice show at the HSBC Arena. For the first time in our history, SABAH has chosen an honorary producer/director for this year's show! Coming forth with his own vision way back in May, Kyle Lappin approached SABAH with a fully designed show itinerary and musical repertoire for all of the classes and rinks participating in the program. His Disney themed Celebration on Ice combines a colorful and energentic array of musical selections from all your favorite Disney music.

A fan of Disney on Ice, Kyle also loves all of the Disney movies and music. But as a budding director, Kyle has been busy choreograping the show's production by arranging small toy characters into SABAH formations as he listens to music from his favorite Disney shows. Kyle has also been working on costume ideas and a sample program for the show as well.

A busy young man in all aspects of his life, Kyle recently graduated form the Daemen YALT program and currently attends the Aspire Co-Op program and the Delaware CAP program. He assists with event planning and also works with the PEP program manager planning their monthly activity calandar. In addition to skating with SABAH, he also loves music, dance, sports, bowling, movies, several sports through the CAPS organization, Amherst Challanger baseball and several social groups.

We are eager for his debut as the honorary director and producer of this year's show!

SABAH's Adaptive Ice Hockey Clinics

Designed expecially for our skaters, SABAH's adaptive ice hockey clinics are now in year four and growing in popularity.  Every session includes basic skill building, such as passing, shooting and stickhandling.   This season, retired professional hockey player Terry Marchant is teaching the program along with Marty Dietrich, head coach of Hasek's Heroes, a hockey program for low income children in Buffalo.    Our clinics also include hockey players from local schools such as Williamsville South and the Buffalo Jr. Sabres who assist our skaters.

SABAH athletes who have basic knowledge of the game, can skate independently and have a desire to play hockey are welcome to participate.  Skaters are provided with helmets, sticks, gloves and a jersey.  At the end of the season, skaters receive a participation certificate.

Contact the SABAH office if you would like more information at 716-362-9600.
